We recently hosted our annual family camping night to celebrate the end of another school year.

Set within the grounds of the Forest School, the residential was made available to all pupils and their families.

Set around a campfire, the burning embers not only provided the perfect opportunity to cook up some tasty treats, but also to bring families together in a fireside sing-song – accompanied by an instrument or two.

At sunrise, campers were invited to breakfast with the badgers, deer, foxes and birds from the comfort of the site’s wildlife hide.

Headteacher Sandra Ford said:

“Our annual camping event has always proven popular with our families and this year we had over 220 people joining us, which was a fantastic turnout.

As well as being lots of fun, events like these help to reinforce the work we do with our forest school in inspiring outdoor learning.

Over the last 10 years, we have taken every opportunity to inspire individuals of any age about the environment and wider ecological challenges through positive outdoor experiences.”
